Yonatan Ben-Simhon’s work, Enlightenment, is based on a poetry book that his father Gabriel published in his youth. In the book, using Kabbalistic methods and Rashi script his grandfather interprets an erotic poem written by the father as a celebration of the Jewish people’s return to the Holy Land. On the same pages, the artist projects fragments of light that reorganize the words to create alternative textual structures, directed by the decisions of a mathematical system he created. And so, throughout the exhibition, Ben-Simhon's intelligent computer continues to generate thousands of new works from the single page of his father's poem.
