This work was first conceived in 2001, while the artist was working on an exhibition in Milan.
By day, the artist worked on sculptures and, by night, on the animation. In this way, a dialogue began to develop between his three-dimensional works and his animation. His three-dimensional works became part of his animation and, conversely, his animated illustrations became part of his three-dimensional works. The animation deals with an almost human interaction between two chairs. The meeting of the chairs—through speech, movement and dance—leads to a love story between the two chairs and eventually to a total merging between them. The chair as a subject in Harush’s work is a significant part of his exploration of everyday objects, transforming them into something new and displacing them from their familiar settings.
